Alternative wedding photography (also called alt wedding photography or editorial wedding photography) means the photographer prioritizes creative composition, real emotion, and non-traditional framing over standard poses. Think fashion-editorial lighting, motion, layers — but grounded in real moments from your actual day, not a styled shoot.

It's not about being weird for the sake of it. It's about images that feel specific to who you are as a couple — the way you actually laugh, move, and interact — rather than a set of photos that could belong to anyone.

How we shoot creative weddings in NYC

We work with available light wherever possible — window light, street light, venue chandeliers. When we add lighting, it's intentional and fashion-influenced, not generic flash fill. We shoot handheld for real energy and on a gimbal for clean, composed frames — often mixing both in the same sequence.

On the day itself: we guide you through movement rather than poses. Walk toward each other. Turn around. Look out the window. Real interactions produce better images than "chin down, shoulders back." We build the session around your energy, not a shot list.
