We shoot digital on Sony A7R5 and medium-format film on Hasselblad 503, personally select and retouch every frame, and deliver 200 or more photos within a month through a private gallery. OUR STYLEWhat does editorial wedding photography mean?
Editorial means the frame is built, with light, silhouette, pose and composition treated the way a fashion magazine treats them. The pace is slower and there is more direction from us. The base stays documentary wedding photography: real emotion on a real day, and we look for the fashion inside what actually happens.

This style asks for a little time and trust. The strongest editorial photos come from couples who give portraits a proper window in the timeline and let us lead. Couples who freeze in front of a camera do well with us too, calm and simple direction is exactly what unfreezes people. In return the gallery looks like a fashion story where the heroes happen to be you.
OUR PROCESS
How Do We Photograph
a Wedding in New York?
We work as a tandem. Both of us build the light and the pose, read the couple's energy and decide who to place where, so the frame feels alive. Some shots we stage deliberately on references from glossy magazines and art, the rest of the day we shoot as it happens.
New York adds its own rules to a wedding shoot. Traffic turns a 15-minute transfer into 40, popular spots are full of tourists, some parks and landmarks require permits, and the weather can flip in an hour, so we plan the route and keep a plan B. The best seasons for photos here are spring, early June and fall; summer humidity and winter cold both cut into outdoor time, and we warn couples about this at the planning stage.
From Central Park and the Brooklyn Bridge to The Plaza and The Foundry, and further out to estate and waterfront venues across New York State like Oheka Castle, Reid Castle, Peconic Bay Yacht Club and The Surf Club on the Sound, we adapt our approach to whatever backdrop the day calls for.
OUR SIGNATUREFilm photography on Hasselblad
Alongside digital, we shoot medium-format film on a Hasselblad 503. It gives depth, characteristic grain, deep color and a timeless feel that digital cannot reproduce, with occasional live light leaks that become part of the image. For digital coverage we shoot Sony A7R5 with resolution built for editorial print.

Sessions
An engagement session is the cheapest way to remove wedding-day nerves. You learn how we direct, we learn what makes you feel like yourselves on camera, and by the wedding the camera is already a familiar presence. It also helps us plan the wedding coverage, from locations to the pace of the portrait window. An engagement session can be added to any package.

Andrew and Roma are the two founders of Arrakis Films. Both came to weddings from cinema and fashion: Andrew as a film director, Roma as a film producer with more than ten years on the Bolshoi Theatre stage. Their short films won international festival awards, and the same visual language now shapes their wedding photography in New York and Los Angeles. Every gallery goes through their hands only, from frame selection to final retouch.
