WHO WE ARE

Meet the Team behind YOUR New York Elopement

We’re Andrew and Roma, the two founders of Arrakis Films, and we photograph and film elopements as one team. Andrew shoots and directs, and Roma produces and shoots alongside him. Elopements are among our favorite days to work: no marathon timeline, no crowd, just the two of you and enough room to build every frame the way it deserves. Couples who elope tend to be the most relaxed in front of a camera, and it shows. We cover elopements across New York and travel further for destination ones, and we edit everything ourselves.

OUR STYLE

What counts as an ELOPEMENT, and what does it include?

An elopement is a small, short wedding: usually the two of you and a handful of guests, a ceremony and a few hours around it. Our elopement coverage is four hours, which is enough for getting ready or a first look, the ceremony, and portraits afterward. It comes as photo, video, or both. Elopement photography is $1,900, video is $1,900, and both together are $3,600. Each side delivers a private gallery, and the video side adds a short film with a trailer.

OUR PROCESS

How four hours actually break down

Roughly an hour for getting ready or a first look, half an hour to an hour for the ceremony, and the rest for portraits and whatever you want to do afterward. That’s a guide, and we build the real version with you before the day. Four hours is tight, so the one thing we’ll push you on is deciding in advance which parts of the day matter most. Once that’s settled, the rest plans itself.

Venues and Permits

How do we cover an elopement?

As one team, quietly, usually in a candid and editorial style. A four-hour elopement moves fast, so we map the timeline in advance: where the ceremony is, where portraits happen, and how you get between them. Almost any atmospheric place works, whether that’s a hotel, an unusual bar, a museum, the Marriage Bureau downtown or a rooftop. The format is flexible by design, and through the day we can move between locations that suit you. On the video side vows go to separate recorders, since a small ceremony is often where the words matter most. On the photo side we mix documentary coverage with a short directed portrait window. The film comes out at three to five minutes with a one to two minute trailer.

Locations

Where do we shoot Elopements in New York?

Manhattan, Brooklyn, Queens, the Bronx, Staten Island, Long Island, the Hudson Valley and New Jersey. City Hall elopements, small ceremonies in a garden or on a rooftop, and quiet upstate or coastal days all work. New York asks for planning even on a short day: the Marriage Bureau on Worth Street runs on its own schedule and its own lines, and some parks and landmarks need permits arranged in advance. We build the four hours around how the day will really go.

“Arrakis Films delivered both stunning photography and an incredible wedding film for our NYC elopement. Roma and Andrew work seamlessly as a photo and video team—the photos are beautifully composed and emotional, and the film is cinematic and heartfelt. What sets them apart is that both services feel equally important and equally beautiful. We love rewatching our film and cherishing our photos in equal measure. Highly recommend for any couple wanting artistic, professional work in both photo and video.”

“I couldn’t have asked for better photographers and videographers. They did an amazing job of capturing my wedding day. My wedding day was on May 17,2025. Not only were they supportive throughout the day, but they also made me feel special and beautiful. I’m grateful to have met Andrew and Roma. They helped me with everything, from the smallest details to the biggest ones. When you showed me the pictures and then the videography, I was blown away. The quality of the photos was stunning, and the passion and warmth in them were incredible. The video was even more impressive. I couldn’t believe you could create such a piece that we would laugh, cry, and watch over and over again. Thank you so much, Roma and Andrew, for being the team who captured my wedding day. I was blessed to meet you both.”

“I could not imagine my wedding day without Arrakis Films. They are without a doubt the most transparent, organized, and determined team to tell your love story, the way you want it, in a way that's beautifully authentic and heartfelt, including everyone present for such a classic wedding day. It's a little nerve racking picking a vendor as a bride. We thought that since they were both Photo + Video/ Super8 Film, it was a no brainer we wanted them to be our photographer. They go above and beyond to get the perfect shot when it matters most, and still when you're not looking, capturing the most perfect moments. It’s been such a gift from them to us to be able to relive a day for that flew by in the blink of an eye. The photos and the videos—are absolutely incredible. I am so in love with every single moment they have captured, and grateful for their guidance and ability to move from one part of the day to the next. I had absolutely no worries!! Especially with everything else going on. I find myself watching our Wedding Film, remembering each moment more and more as it was, and each time I realize that I’m smiling from beginning to end, every. single. time. These memories mean more to us than I can say (especially cause it went by too fast!). The team is truly amazing. They kept us laughing and easing all of our nerves, made me and all of the girls feel so beautiful, while capturing everything and everyone so thoughtfully and meaningfully. Words truly can’t express how grateful I am for Arrakis Films. With love, The Bride”

Arrakis Films is Andrew and Roma, a photographer and a filmmaker who like the freedom of an elopement. Andrew shoots and directs, Roma produces and shoots at his side. A short day with nobody watching gives them room to build every frame the way it deserves, usually in a candid, editorial style, and couples who elope tend to be the most relaxed in front of a camera. They cover elopements in New York and Los Angeles and travel for destination ones, editing everything themselves, and they work to one idea: “True.Fierce. Beauty”, real beauty caught, not staged.
