New York City Elopement Photographer

Intimate elopement photography in NYC — City Hall, Central Park, Brooklyn Bridge Park and beyond.

NYC City Hall Wedding for Intimate Weddings

City Hall elopements in Manhattan move fast — the Marriage Bureau has its own rhythm, and the light inside the building is unpredictable. We arrive knowing the layout, plan around the waiting time, and stay ready for the moments that happen between the paperwork and the ceremony. You walk out with a set of images that feel quiet and real, not rushed.

Best Places for a New York City Elopement

The right location depends on what kind of images you want and how much foot traffic you can handle. Here are the spots we shoot most often:

  • Central Park — open light, multiple backdrops, works in any season; busiest midday, best early morning

  • Brooklyn Bridge Park — Manhattan skyline, great golden hour, easier to move around than Manhattan locations

  • DUMBO — iconic arch and cobblestone streets, best on weekday mornings before crowds arrive

  • The High Line — elevated perspective, good for couples who want urban texture over greenery

  • Prospect Park — quieter alternative to Central Park, especially good for intimate moments without tourists

We help you pick based on your timeline, the season, and how you want the final images to feel.

Is this right for you?

An NYC elopement with Arrakis Films works best for couples who:

  • Want to get married without a full wedding production — just the two of you (or a small group)

  • Prefer real, documentary-style images over posed portrait sessions

  • Are doing City Hall and want photos that reflect how that day actually felt

  • Are coming from out of state or internationally and need a photographer who knows NYC logistics

  • Want the option to add video to the same package without hiring two separate vendors

City Hall and Marriage License Steps in New York City

To get married in NYC, you need a marriage license issued by the NYC City Clerk. The process: submit an application online, book an in-person or virtual appointment, and receive the license after your appointment. New York State requires waiting at least 24 hours after the license is issued before the ceremony, unless a judge grants a waiver.

We build our elopement timelines around this — often scheduling portraits for early morning when streets are quieter, then heading to City Hall for the ceremony itself.
